Thanks for reminding me that while joy is a gift and a fruit of the spirit, it is still up to me to choose to walk in it and enjoy the abundant life Christ died to give us. It is our profound privilege as believers to choose joy so that we can display this aspect of the nature of God to the world and to the Body.

Stiff-necked? That sounds like a lot of folks I know … yes, including myself. We are funny creatures, us humans.

And here’s the really odd part: Most of us turn to God as THE LAST RESORT, when all else fails. We turn to God when He is the ONLY option remaining. How dumb is that?

My goal: To surrender to God in full view of a ton of other options, but knowing that He is the One, He is the Answer, and, most of all, His Way is the very best Way. God Bless, my friend. JRI

Thanks for the kind words. I encourage you to continue doing what you are doing. I have to turn off the radio sometimes in the car and pray (which is hard to do because I’m a music freak)… Praying will walking is a good method too! Good suggestion.

This is the first time to visit your site and I’m so blessed to have found it. First of all, you have the attitude. I’m just blessed with your life when you prayed along with the two women. that was one extraordinary act. why would somebody pray for people they don’t know? but you were different. you were being christ-like. blessings to you! I also struggle in waking up to pray and read the Bible but I force myself sometimes. and even soemtimes I pray while walking to work. I even sing songs.

I try hard to be open and aware of these moments with my children. I thought this story was a fantastic example of excellent parenting… or in your case excellent parental-leadership. Christian will lean on you as the guy who answers his questions honestly, and as he gets older that will become even more important.

This had a huge impact on me, thank you so much for letting me use it for the magazine.
