Transparent: Nathan, you seem to be ‘living the dream.’ For the people that don’t know, describe your life, as you travel with your family and play music. NCG: Three years ago we decided to put all our things in storage, give up our apartment, buy a motorhome, and hit the road with our 5 children! It was a crazy time, to be sure, but we had no desire for my wife and children to be at home while I was on the road. We said many times that we would either do this together, or we would not try it at all. Since then I've played hundreds of concerts, and as a family we have seen amazing places and met so many wonderful people!

Christopher Ames is my favorite type of Christian. If you are a regular reader of Transparent Christian Magazine, you know that we interview people with real-world challenges, walking with Jesus and using their individual gifts to benefit others. Christopher is one of those people! Earlier this year, Singer/Songwriter Recording Artist Christopher Ames released a [...]

Transparent: Man, that IS a crazy story. Mike: Well the story does go a little deeper. After we first started discussing this with the webmaster (Jerry) he put us on his Myspace friends page. Well, what I mean is that he put us on his top ten Myspace Friends. He has hundreds of "porn star" friends, who started sending us friend requests....so, after some debate, we accepted them. Then some amazing messages started arriving! I think we have a dozen or so messages from different porn actresses telling us how much a certain song or songs had ministered to or spoke to them.

Logan loves this group and I found out that they were playing at a local church about 30 minutes away. It was on a Sunday evening and I surprised him by scheduling it. He sat in the front seat of our car and played DJ as we listened to their cd all the way to the show.

TCM: Wow. Talk to me about the process. Stephanie: Well, we went down to the library and got every travel book known to man. ‘Hiking books’, ‘things to do books’… it seemed at first we had 3 books for every state! We finally returned the books and just decided we were going to open up the map, and find the most backwoods way of getting wherever we were going!

TCM: So, how did you start your Nashville career? Paul: I moved from Michigan in 1994. I was going to college at GMI Kettering (in Flint) and I was working on seats for cars. I didn’t want to be the guy that made the “back rest lever” on an automobile. It’s not that [...]

Every once in awhile I have the privilege of meeting someone that brightens my soul. Singer/Songwriter Mitch McVicker is one of those people. When we met to chat at the Radisson Hotel during GMA week in Nashville, I got the feeling that Mitch is himself wherever he is. No putting on airs, no false pretenses, [...]

Singer, songwriter and recording artist Jim Murphy doesn’t strike you as a typical Record Label Executive. His boyish good looks, Arkansas drawl, quick smile and penchant for bursts of laughter remind you more of your best friend or favorite brother-in-law. Behind his genuine easy going nature, I was intrigued to find a savvy [...]
