I was driving home on I-65 from Brentwood to Hendersonville and was coming up on the merger of I-65, I-40, and I-24 where traffic comes to a grinding halt. I noticed an incredibly beautiful 18-wheeler coming up beside me. I never pay attention to cars or trucks but try to “survive” the chaos.
However, this truck was a thing of beauty. You could see your face in the black paint and silver stripes. I slowed down as I noticed the huge letters along the side of the trailer-“The Passionate Pursuit of Perfection”. When I reached the point of where the trailer joined the cab, I saw www.lexus.com.
Their corporate slogan has been rolling around in my head for days.
I’m continually amazed that God can speak via the letters on a black truck. He reminded me of his passionate pursuit of me and you. His passion cost every drop of blood in his Son’s body.
He also reminded me that He has me in the passionate pursuit of perfection. As a ten-year-old boy, I became a follower of his Son and entered a process of spiraling upwards to perfection even though I feel I’m spiraling downward most days.
His Word tells me I’m in a process and changing from glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18) and that one day I’ll be exactly like Jesus-perfect! (1 John 3:1-3)
As I looked in my rearview mirror at the gorgeous truck, I began taking inventory of my role in the “passionate pursuit of perfection”.
Am I passionate in reading His Word and hanging out with Him on a daily basis?
Am I passionate about sharing his passionate pursuit with anyone?

Ouch…first thing that came to mind after reading that and God giving me that “gentle nudge” of “well, are you?”
Thank you for letting God speak through you by sharing your own experiences!
Blessings…Callie

Hi Mike,
I’m a first time visitor here (coming via Church Of No People) and I noticed your name. I know what you mean about that feeling of upward and downward spirals. Letters on the back of a truck. Mighty rushing wind. Still small voice… He’ll speak whenever we’ll listen.
