A few days later, my Dad came in from work with a new catcher’s mitt and a catcher’s mask. We began to play catch several days a week. Eventually he hung a tire from a tree and put a canvas behind it. He told me to practice throwing the ball through the tire every day.

I had always wanted to help the homeless get off the street and find a good place to live. We both wanted to reach those that sometimes get overlooked, and I felt like if I had the place that wasn't being used, that it was part of God's plan for it to be given in this ministry.
