And The World Welcomes Zacharia Jay – Jason Elkins

One of my best friends from Michigan phoned the other day with the news of the birth of their third child.  He was my college roommate and probably the first young Christian man that I met, that wasn’t pompous or condescending when he spoke to me about his relationship with Jesus. Gene incorporated his everyday life with his faith (the [...]

A Snapshot of Love and Community at the “McCain & Company Guitar Pull 2009″ – Joshua Wienczkowski

I walked in, looked around and realized quickly that I was in a unique place.  In every direction there was a sea of tamed hair, sleek shirts, jeans with the wallet square worn in, and tour shoes.  I was at the GMA’s in the Renaissance hotel lobby, downtown Nashville. Everyone was bustling around, catching up [...]

“Stress Management” – C.H.A.M.P.I.O.N.S – Mike Cowart Sr.

Storms – Joshua Wienczkowski

Life happens in God's timing. There are no situations we can put ourselves in that yield the wisdom He has to offer. There is no amount of work that you or I can do that will gain even one ounce of goodness unless it's through Him.

Not Going to Die in the Yarn Department at Hobby Lobby! – Jason Elkins

Some crazy storms blew through middle Tennessee last week, causing a collective-bit of afternoon anxiety, a few damaged buildings and the death of a Bradford Pear tree in my front yard.  Bradfords have a design flaw; thin, fast growing branches and wide leaves that combine to act like a sail in a heavy wind. A friend [...]

Catcher’s Mitt – C.H.A.M.P.I.O.N.S – Mike Cowart Sr.

A few days later, my Dad came in from work with a new catcher’s mitt and a catcher’s mask. We began to play catch several days a week. Eventually he hung a tire from a tree and put a canvas behind it. He told me to practice throwing the ball through the tire every day.

We both wanted to reach those that sometimes get overlooked, and I felt like if I had the place that wasn't being used, that it was part of God's plan for it to be given in this ministry. It was a perfect fit.
