TCC WORSHIP BAND – When Life Gets Broken – Review by DJ Rockin’ Ron

Rockinron here!

My newest cd review is the TCC Worship Band. A cd that I truly enjoy and one I want to recommend. TCC Worship Band is another great act from the place called indieheaven. I have played this cd a few times plus have already spotlighted Pastor Matt Hybarger who is the singer and drummer on this fine cd.

“When Life Gets Broken” consists of 11 great tracks. The title gives the message “when life gets broken” so everyone will probably relate, as we all face hard times. We all need a boost up from Jesus and from friends who care. So I find this cd most uplifting as I listen to each and every track.

Some of the songs are well done remakes, like “Somebody Cares” from Michael Obrien. I saw him in concert years ago and have a great memory of helping him sell cds and t-shirts at an after concert in Wichita Kansas. Another classic from years past is called “Through The Eyes of Love”. I almost forgot how much I loved it, because it’s been so long since I have heard that one! One I didn’t really know but I’m glad to know now is “Picking up the Pieces” each of these remakes are past songs but made to fit radio for 2009.

I love this cd for many reasons. There are many great voices in Christian music who have their part in this cd. From David and Kellye Huff from David and the Giants, to The Katinas. Did I tell you that Clay Crosse sings on this cd? How about Russ Lee, Steve Archer, and Michael Obrien. This brings back so many memories of some artists I truly have enjoyed since being turned on to Christian music in 1986.

There is a duet that is on this cd that I have a feeling may be one my new all time faves. This duet features Matt hybarger with Kellye Huff. It is called “Never Alone’. To hear these artists sing together you would think they been doing duets together their whole lives. Listen closely to the harmonies and the words!

Let me leave you with the words from “Eyes On You”

When everything starts slipping away.

I keep my feet on the rock.

My heart to the truth

I know where I am heading every day.

Your mercies are new

So I am keeping my eyes on you
