I’ve received numerous emails lately assuring me that Senator Obama is the antichrist based on Revelation 13, and even suggesting the 42 month time line mentioned in this passage could be directly tied to the four year Presidential term.
Several folks are absolutely convinced that he is indeed “the one”. When John Kennedy was elected my Dad told me he was the antichrist-Dad was wrong.
Let’s take a look at what God says about the subject:
“Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son.” 1 John 2:21-23 Amplified Version
“Here’s how you test for the genuine Spirit of God. Everyone who confesses openly his faith in Jesus Christ—the Son of God, who came as an actual flesh-and-blood person—comes from God and belongs to God. And everyone who refuses to confess faith in Jesus has nothing in common with God. This is the spirit of antichrist that you heard was coming. Well, here it is, sooner than we thought!” 1 John 4:1-3 The Message
“I say this because many deceivers have gone out into the world. They deny that Jesus Christ came in a real body. Such a person is a deceiver and an antichrist.” 2 John 1:6-8 New Living Translation.
“Children, time is just about up. You heard that Antichrist is coming. Well, they’re all over the place, antichrists everywhere you look. That’s how we know that we’re close to the end.” 1 John 2:17-19 The Message

Isn’t it amazing how we project our politics and incorrect theology on other people instead of praying and searching the Word for the answer? We spend our time and energy sending and reading these emails instead of being on our faces before God and His Word.
Let’s stop sending “panic” emails and be “light” to the “antichrist” who happen to be our friends and family members that do not believe that Jesus is the Christ-the one and only way to God.

Thanks for this. irrespective of my personal politics, i’ve received a load of troubling e-mails from both sides which come from normally well-intentioned, but badly misguided, people..caught up in the spin cycle.
Both of these candidates has expressed an open, personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Who are we, as Christians, to throw stones at those pronouncements? it’s tragic that we are so afraid…that some feel compelled to air those fears in this manner.

Mike, I agree…Jesus is the Way, the “Truth” and the Life…..! My belief: Truth radiates faith, and faith radiates truth! May we, as believers in Christ, “keep our eyes on Jesus!”

Obama is not the anti-Christ….He will come from Rome. But, as a believer, I could not vote for him because he is a supporter of abortion and he will not support Israel…both against scripture.

Another Amen brother! Thanks for the clairity. Yes, I’ve seen plently of similar email and forums full of panic, I just have to look the other way and get on with my Jesus.
