When you think theres no hope. DON’T GIVE UP.
I went and saw the movie Fireproof my son Eli. We both loved it. The movie is about a fireman named Caleb who thinks theres no hope for his failing marriage. So is it time for a divorce? In a society where divorce has become part of many of our lives, this movie will remind you what the wedding vows “For Better or For Worse” truly mean.
Fireproof stars Kirk Cameron – remember him in GROWING PAINS? Well, he’s all grown up now and he is in the love story of the year. Caleb and his wife Cahterine are both to the point where they say “its over” but when a loving dad steps in, Caleb agrees to try something for 40 days. No, his heart is not ‘in it’ at the beginning, but Caleb will soon learn who to invest his heart (love) into.
Because Caleb is a fireman, this movie is not just talk and mush. This movie includes some great action as Caleb goes out to save the world. Check out some these great scenes like the car stuck on a train track or the dramatic rescue inside a burning house.
“YOU DON’T LEAVE YOUR PARTNER IN AN EMERGENCY “ is a line Caleb tells one of his fireman. In that comment he relizes he has his own crisis at home. He can save the world but can he save his marriage?
How could God love us when we’ve rejected Him? Didn’t he still love us when we were at our worst? Caleb will learn a lesson about true love, and how to truly love his wife.
I’m telling you folks: This movie will inspire you and touch your heart. THE LOVE DARE book is something I want to check out. I’m not married but these lessons of love can help you when you deal with people day to day. As an example, I’m returning to work at a support facility with some troubled teens. Some of them appreciate me and the work I do, and others don’t want to follow any direction or leadership. I can use the message of Fireproof (Loving others) in this job!
Go see this movie and tell anyone who’s married to see it too. Put this love story on your “I Do List” this year!
By the way… This DJ loved the great music in the movie. There are great songs by JOHN WALLER, WARREN BARFIELD, THIRD DAY, CASTING CROWNS and more.

You do have to rememember that other than Kirk Cameron, the actors are volunteers. Having said that, the message is awesome and inspires all couples to take practical steps to purposely choose to love each other even when that love is not returned or deserved. Just like God does us, huh? The music was awesome.
