I wake up to the sound of cars racing across the highway. Finally it is the day to go to the zoo.
I hopped on my parent’s bed and yelled “wake up wake up!” It is the day I have been waiting for. I zoom into my room, as fast as my legs would go and get dressed.
I scream “come on we are going to be late for the zoo”. It felt like it took forever to get there and pulled on my parents to get to the gate.
“They are not open yet mom.” I sobbed.
When the bell went off I raced toward the door yanking my parents again.
When we got in my mouth dropped as I looked at all the animals. I saw my favorite animal in the whole world and shouted excitedly “lets got see the penguins dad!” After feeding the penguins we went to see the other animals like the biggest alligator in the whole zoo. We got to see it get fed big juicy steaks.
The last animal we saw had never been seen before by the public. It looked like a brown pug puppy and an ‘orangish’ brownish Guiney pig. They called it a pugpig and they found it in the Amazon rain forest. We got to pet it and it felt like the softest pillow in the galaxy.
It started to get dark so we headed home. When we got there, I said as I gently closed my eyes “I wonder what we are doing tomorrow.”

Kianna- Matthew and Joshua love the zoo too! You did an excellent job with that story! I’ve never heard of a pugpig…. The boys and I are going to learn all about them today because of your story! Next time we visit the zoo, do you think you and your family can go with us?! Good job, Kianna. Thank you for sharing it with us!
