Are you looking for a cd that is inviting? One to draw your hearts and minds on Jesus? I’m going to invite you to check out Color Through the Gray by Mike Westendorf. This brand new cd is ‘top notch’ and one for your personal cd collection.
The first song is ‘Come’ . Didn’t I tell you it was inviting!? These lyrics invite you to put aside everything and draw close to Jesus:
Come to me who seeks for peace.
Come to me peace you’ll know.
Come and lay your burdens down.
For I give rest for your soul.
Bring to me your troubles and worries.
Share with me your laughter and joy.
Mike has his own take on ‘Cinderella Song’ you know that one by Steven Curtis Chapman? His is called “Daddy Dance with Me.” You fathers and mothers are going to cherish this one:
Lord Help me be the father I need to be
Daddy Dance with me
I have little hands, little feet
will you show me how.
I will be your girl for a little while
Daddy dance with me.
I love the track called “Prelude to Praise.” It is a song inviting you to worship along. Mike, I want to sing this with you live concert. I’ll stay in my seat though!
Praises to my God and King.
We say praises to his holy name
We cry worthy is your name on high
Hallelujah
I really enjoy the acoustic sound of just mike and his guitar. “Color Through The Gray” reminds me to slow down and see the colors of the world around me.
Paint my life through colors seen in heavens eyes
Help me see the color through the gray.
Do you like Michael Card? How about Fernando Ortega? Well Mike fits great nicely in their camp, yet has his own beautiful sound.
At a Time speaks to my heart directly.
When you walk your road
Press to your goal m
May you live your life one day at a time.
When the road seems to run uphill.
To the one who will stand with you
May he dry your tears, calm your fears
“Be Still” reminds us that no matter what we face, God is with us.
We know, he is God
Come and see the works of the lord
Be still
As I listen to the beautiful song “Be Still” I pray that each of you will quiet your hearts and truly know how much the Lord is with you… How He can handle any fears you have… How much He loves you.
I have heard music from Mike Westendorf before, but I have to say this is his best cd yet! Mike redoes one of his earlier hits, “Run Boy Run” and it sounds fresh and relevant! Keith Mohr at Indieheaven sounds great on keys and does a great job of engineering this cd!
From start to finish you will be invited into the Lord’s presence.
