C.H.A.M.P.I.O.N.S “Father’s Song”

I was very fortunate to have grown up in a music family. My Dad played guitar, harp, and had a good voice. He sang over me as a child and sang to our boys as babies. It was frustrating to have him and Mom take care of them for an extended time. The boys expected us to walk the floor and sing to them!

Now I am privileged to sing to our grand babies. I love to hold Eisley and sing Jesus Loves Me. The lyrics coming from my gravely voice seem to be calming to her. She probably goes to sleep out of boredom. Regardless, the experience is wonderful for me!

I confess to you that I’m not a frequent reader of Zephaniah. However, there is one verse in the book that captivates my attention. In the third chapter, the prophet says, “The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.” Zeph 3:17

What kind of voice does God have? Is he a screaming tenor or basement bass? Does He sing classical, pop, r&b, or rock n roll songs?

Forget the above questions.

Focus on the thought of Him “rejoicing over you with singing!”

I’ve been thinking about Him singing over me. I can imagine Him in a huge rocking chair. He’s holding me in his lap, looking into my face, brushing my forehead, and singing one of my favorites-from His heart to mine.

Now, imagine that you are in His lap. He’s looking into your eyes and brushing your forehead.

Click on the video below, close your eyes and enjoy His “rejoicing over you with singing!”

Mike I sang holding my girls years ago and they would go to sleep in my arms. I now sing to my grandson and it is such a delight to hold him and feel the little sigh he gives before giving in to sleep in my arms. I can imagine during times when all seems to be going wrong, God is holding us waiting for the little sigh where all is well in our soul. When we are with God all is well all the time.
