I confess-I’m reading the July-August issue of the AARP Bulletin. I’ve just listened to the NBC Nightly News, and all of the major newspapers are defaulting and shutting down printing presses. The Chicago Tribune is closing, and their high rise office building is for sale as well as the Chicago Cubs! Someone said, “If you are reading a newspaper, you are reading yesterday’s news.”
We’re in a digital tsunami!
This past Sunday a friend asked, “How are you?” Before I could complete my answer, he was either sending or receiving a text message.
The ARRP article is called, “Funeral Planning, the Online Way”. I can now do all my funeral arrangements digitally by visiting www.MyWonderfulLife.com or www.YourDeathWish.com. I can plan the music, speaker, and even give six people online access to my plans.
I’ve completed my evening by going to a funeral visitation to comfort a friend who has lost his Dad. Perhaps I should have sent him an email or text message? Is there such a thing as a “digital hug”?
If Solomon spoke to us today, he would say, “There is a time to be digital. There is a time to be personal. There is a time to text. There is a time to give a hug. There is a time to listen. There is a time to put away the IPhone.”

Myrick,
Hi from Karen (Cross) Pinner. I remember sitting in Miss Millie Childress’s English class with you at BHS. Who knew you were so talented? Hope that you and your family are happy and well.
Enjoyed reading your email that Patsy Pennington sent. Karen
