“Where is God?” Was the number one question for Pope Benedict XVI on his visit to Ground Zero with a few 911 survivor family members.

On a more personal note, where was God last week when our family friends were notified that their son had been arrested and accused of multiple rapes in Nashville? More than likely, he’s guilty and will spend his remaining life in jail.

I just received a phone call that a friend committed suicide this morning. He’s one of the Godliest men that I’ve ever known. Where is God?

The parents of the son and the family of my friend are reeling in pain and asking the same question that 911 families are still asking. Where is God?

I’ve not experienced any of these tragedies and cannot imagine the depth of the pain.

The only thing that I do know is that God is in the same place that he was in when his only Son was falsely accused, arrested, crucified, and buried. His heart breaks!

Secondly, we live on a “post-Curse” earth. Jesus said there would be “many trials and tribulations.”

Finally, I know that God is going to create a New Earth and New Heaven. There will be no terrorist attacks, no tears, and no death! “They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more. For the Lamb which sits in the midst of the throne shall feed them and lead them to everlasting springs of water. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes!” Rev 7:16-17
