“How to embellish your life story without getting caught” was the headline for a lead article on MSN.com the week of March 3. There were comments such as “specificity is your enemy, avoid precise information and remain as obscure as possible, and when cornered-confess.”
Have you ever embellished your story? Is my resume the absolute truth?
When I think about the upcoming season of Easter, I stand in awe as to how Jesus has embellished my life. I was spiritually, emotionally, and physically bankrupt. As a ten-year-old I admitted that I was a sinner and asked him into my life.
I had heard words like “apart from me you are nothing”, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” and “the wages of sin is death”.
He removed my debt of sin and made a withdrawal of love, mercy, and grace from his account. He deposited his righteousness into my account! My story changed from rags to riches, as I became a citizen of His Kingdom and a co-heir with him!
Fannie Crosby realized that he had embellished her story and wrote, “This is my story, this is my song. Praising my Savior, all the day long!”
