C.H.A.M.P.I.O.N.S–”Weather” by Mike Cowart Sr.

WeatherpicIts 70+ degrees today and I wish I was outside.

A friend just sent me an email showing the massive system that is moving our direction. In less than 24 hours, the high will be in the mid-30s and a chance of sleet and perhaps snow. Typically, there is tornado activity with these sudden changes.

Weather forecasting has always amazed me. The real tragedy comes when the warnings are unheeded.

Don’t you wish we had these types of advance warnings for the “weather of life” instead of being blind sided with drastic changes like: “You have stage four cancer”; “I want a divorce”, “We are downsizing and no longer need your services”; or “I’m sorry to tell you that your Dad has expired.”

We do have advance “weather of life” warnings, but these are ignored also.

Jesus did predict our weather when he said, “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.] John 16:33 Amplified Bible

Better than his warning is the fact that he promised to be in our storms with us. He never promised to calm our storms. He has promised to calm us in the storm. “You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.” Isaiah 26:3 Amplified Bible

There are only two ways to handle the sudden changes—peace or panic.

C.H.A.M.P.I.O.N.S stands for:

Christ has eliminated my guilt
His Spirit tells me I am his child
Awesome victory is mine
My mind is set on his Spirit
Power is made perfect in weakness
I have the intercession of the Holy Spirit and Jesus
Only God knows why bad things happen to good people
Nothing separates me from his love
Satan has been defeated!
