Ten Million Dollar HeartJason's Picture

So here I am sitting with my mind totally blown. I just found out that in the not too distant past, one of my friends had come up with a BIG idea. I’m talking about the kind of idea that if implemented correctly, could change your financial future forever! Maybe even change the financial future of your GRANDCHILDREN. Yes, it was THAT big of an idea.

She came up with a way to turn a surprise for a family member into an event that gained national attention. The details of the event aren’t really important, except to say that she gained the very real interest of multiple national news agencies, “Fortune 50” advertisers, and a chance to cash out relatively quickly to the tune of somewhere between 2.5 and 10 million dollars. Many people dream of the “get rich quick idea” and she actually implemented one, legitimately, with vision, creativity and hard work.

She told me she had a discussion with her spouse when they realized that everything would change overnight. This event would have drawn that much attention. He said “I’ll support Paparazziyou if you want to do this, but I’m not crazy about the idea of losing our privacy”. So, out of love and respect for her spouse, (not obligation) she decided not to pursue this opportunity.

What would you do in that situation? What if you were just a short period of time away from a multi-million dollar idea and BANG, your spouse’s suggestion would put the kibosh on it. When I asked her how she felt, she said “well, I didn’t think too much of it at the time”. I told her I thought that showed a lot of character, that she was willing to “sacrifice so much for her spouse”. She said “I never really gave it a second thought”. He told her that he didn’t need the notoriety or fame, that he just needed her.

…Did I mention I was stunned?

Her faith and dedication is woven so tightly into the fabric of her character, that the decision was easy. That’s the kind of foundation that I am working towards…the one in which the right decision is made immediately, or at least without guilt.

At this time of crazy holiday schedules, Christmas presents and expectations, my hope for you is that you view your thoughts and decisions through the eyes of Jesus. Seek peace. Let’s not focus on ‘what’s in it for us’ this year, and did we get the gift that we were hoping for. In the eyes of the world, my friend gave up a great opportunity. In the eyes of our savior, she didn’t miss a step on her journey!

Merry Christmas,
Jason

I don’t know of anyone who on their death bed said, “I wish I had spent more time at the office.”

I did hear a story about a guy who placed his riches in the attic just above his bed. He thought he could pick it up on his way out of this world. He died, his wife looked in the attic a couple of days later and found the stuff. She said, “I told him he should have put it in the basement.”
